Prayer Retreat – June 1

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
—2 Chronicles 7:14

“Prayer is not only about us getting through to God. Prayer is about God getting through to us so that we can discover his fatherly love for us…..Although there are 72 names for God in the Old Testament, and several more in the New Testament, every time Jesus addresses God, he calls him “Father.” —J. Smed, Journey in Prayer, Learning to Pray with Jesus

Awaken yourself to the reality of God’s presence in your life. Take advantage of this opportunity for an extended time of personal reflection and connection with God.  Plan on joining us for VCBC’s biannual Prayer Retreat to be held on Sat, June 1, from 9am-1pm at VCBC.  A simple lunch will be provided (free will donation).

During the prayer retreat, we will have a time to pray for others.  Begin to ask those in your family, small group, work, circle of influence, etc. how you can pray for them. Bring these requests on the day of the retreat for a time of intercession.

Prayer booklet with scriptures will be provided, which will guide us in prayer and personal reflection in God’s presence.
NEW this time, we will also have an optional opportunity to prayerwalk our neighborhood.

Things to bring to enhance your time:

  1. Bible
  2. pen/pencil
  3. water
  4. mp3/CD player(optional)

RSVP with the PCS team by May 26 downstairs after the service, or email [email protected] or [email protected].
