Update from Jacob’s Well

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

Update from Jacob’s Well. “We are living in a time of uncertainty about the future of the Jacob’s Well community. As we will be homeless on September 1st, we are taking until June 15 to pray, fundraise and search for an affordable location within the DTES. On June 15 we will need to make the decision to move or begin the process of closing our doors for good.” During this time of seeking God’s will for Jacob’s Well,
we as the VCBC family can support them in the following specific ways. 1. On Saturday, June 3rd @ 1:30 PM for a Walk-a-Thon around Stanley Park meeting at the Miniature Railway Entrance. 2. On Friday, June 9th from 4 – 8PM for a Pizza Party Fundraiser at Briarpatch Garden (at the corner of Princess & East Cordova). 4. Support our Chimp fundraising campaign: http://bit.ly/2r5akwp. Contact Yolanda at [email protected] for more information on any of these.

Apologetics for 2017 with Dr. Tawa Anderson

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

“Apologetics for 2017” with Dr. Tawa Anderson. If you ask non-Christians why they reject Christianity, or find it hard to believe in God at all, the most common thoughtful response you receive will have to do with “The Problem of Evil.” In a nutshell, many find it difficult or impossible to reconcile the notion of an all-powerful loving God with the widespread evil and suffering in the world. In our time together on June 24 & 25, Tawa will seek to guide us in taking time to sift through the theological, philosophical, and existential threads involved in evil, suffering, and the Christian faith. Non-Christian friends will appreciate the thoughtfulness of this evaluation and challenge!
