Discipleship Classes NEW Offering

Sunday, August 26th, 2012

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2a (NIV)

Our Nurturing Team is offering NEW discipleship classes to any new, young or mature believer who would like to grow in discipleship. The class will require a commitment to complete weekly assignments, memorize Scripture and attend regularly.

You are invited to prayerfully consider committing for 9 months, beginning September 9 to June, of dedicated study of God’s Word, building of relationships and mutual accountability under the oversight and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We will be following the format in the book, Discipleship Essentials (Greg Ogden), which you will be required to purchase for $15.

The curriculum includes:

  • Part 1: Growing Up in Christ (meditation, Bible study, prayer, worship)
  • Part 2: Understanding the Message of Christ (Trinity, image of God, sin, grace, redemption, justification, adoption)
  • Part 3: Becoming Like Christ (Holy Spirit, trust, love, justice, witness)
  • Part 4: Serving Christ (the church, ministry, spiritual warfare, obedience, stewardship).

    Time: 11:30AM-12:30PM
Location: Moberly Elementary School (3 blocks west of VCBC)
Sign up: Please register for the discipleship class by contacting
Wi-Guan Lim at [email protected] so we know how many books to order.
simply show up to the first class on September 9.

“Superficiality is the curse of our age….The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.” (Richard Foster, Celebration of Discipline)
